Dutch blogger Desiree Castelijn is glad to present to you a new blog called Ikebana Beautiful.
Ikebana Beautiful offers you an accessible way to create a life with natural materials, in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
Making your own flower decorations can brighten your day and gives you relaxation and tranquility.
It helps you to live in the moment and to get in contact with the seasons.
Anyone can enjoy the beauty of nature anywhere, at any time.
Which is why Ikebana Beautiful wants to inspire you.
What is Ikebana?
When we mention the word Ikebana, many people are staring at us with those glassy eyes.
“Huh, what do you mean by Ikebana?”
Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arrangement. Ikebana is creative expression within certain rules of construction. The 50 rules of ikebana you van read in this blog post.
But at Ikebana Beautiful we take the liberty to go beyond the (strict) rules of Ikebana by experimenting and modernizing more freely. We also apply influences of Western arts of flower arranging in a mix of styles.
Our most important goal is to give you joy in playing with the materials that nature offers us.
In addition, we are inspired but not limited by the art of Ikebana.
After many years of practicing the art of Ikebana it is now time to share it with the world.
We hope you will enjoy it.
Offering our apologies in advance, we hope you will forgive us any errors in the English language. This language is not our mother tongue.
In Dutch the reach of this blog will be too small for such a nice subject.
So, make your life beautiful and start following Ikebana Beautiful on YouTube now and practice all the examples we plan to give you.
